Musings on 'The Secret'

Previous post was a description of the principles of the 'Law of Attraction' which is supposed to be the secret to blissful existence on this planet. Allegedly all the successful people or at least most of them are said to be have been aware of this. All this affair just adds one more layer of intricacy for my wretched existence on this planet. From the day we are born there is the bombardment of our brain with the supposed truths of the universe. Initially it was God, the Almighty, the unquestionable being who will strike you down even if you look at him wrong. Secret of success from age 1 to age 18 was 'Praise God, and you will attain salvation.' Then of course the rebel years set in and you dont want to believe in someone that demands so much phony respect and so decide to make up your own set of rules which essentially tells you to not hurt another human being whatever you do.

Along comes another supposed truth, 'Law of Attraction', its not even an actual law because it cannot be proven, it is supposed to be taken with a huge dose of faith, apparently thats exactly where we were with the 'God' phenomenon. And of course this one also insists that you love yourself to the max which uncomfortably borders on narcissism . I recently read an argument against the 'Law of Attra...' which cites the case of abused children, did the child wish this upon them, or was it entirely upon the whims of the adults who wanted it to happen. Certain realms in this theory thus has uncomfortable levels of explanations.

Moreover just consider the case of my January 05 posting, put it together with the 'intention-manifestation' principle, (hint:asteroid + earth) yes....muahahaha you are in for a rocky ride!!
